Something bad has happened. I don’t know when it happened and I didn’t see it coming but all I know is that I don’t like it. Not one little bit. If you’re like me, then you’ll have noticed it too – the lunch hour isn’t an hour anymore. What used to be a great time to relax and take care of some all-important chores has now turned into a 30 minutes of frenzied limp sandwich scoffing and one-handed typing while you’re still grinding it out for The Man. 2011 is set to be the year of the tablet…but why?


In my most recent blog post, I’d hit the shiny strip of Vegas for CES, the consumer electronics show. Every gadget under the sun seemed to make an appearance, but as far as I’m concerned, tablets were the biggest story to write home about.

2011 looks set to be ‘year of the tablet.’ Some analysts are predicting tablet sales will in fact, have over taken laptop sales by 2015. Which may leave you wondering – what’s the big deal about tablets?

Guest Post: Best new apps from MWC 2011.

I’m back from the biggest showcase of new mobile technology – the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Over two days I’ve had the chance to see the smartphones and tablets you’ll be pocketing next. From the dual-core Samsung Galaxy S II to the new HTC Flyer, the one thing that unites them all is that they’re going to be app-hungry little beasts.
