The wait is finally over! You’ve all been really excited about the arrival of the HTC Sensation and I’m happy to announce that it’s now available on Three.
It’s been great to see all your comments flood in on the blog, you’ve really been eager to get your hands on this phone! The HTC Sensation is now available online and in 3Stores.
The HTC Sensation has something for everyone, with its 4.3 inch high resolution touchscreen, Dual-core processor and 8MP camera. It also runs on Android Gingerbread, which is also known as 2.3, this makes browsing and using your favourite Apps on the Sensation super fast.
I love seeing technology evolve which is one of the reasons why I love everything 3D. My favourite features on the Sensation is the 3D animated widgets and menu, I’m constantly changing my homescreen to bring the phone to life and to match my mood (and outfit!).
I sent Brendan out to put the phone to the test, he’s taken some beautiful pictures using Magic Hour. As you can see, HTC’s new ‘drag and drop’ feature makes the whole HTC experience much quicker and more efficient. You can now instantly drag your favourite apps on the lock screen and instantly access them without ever having to unlock the phone..
Take a look at Brendan’s video and let me know what you think – I think you’re all going to love it.

yeph i can verified that three has rolled out the ics 4.0.3 to the sensation i recieved my update today, and so far it is okay, super fast i guess it worth the wait thanks again three but next time please dont make us wait to long again….
@Scott – We’ll be rolling out the ICS update for the HTC Sensation as soon as we can, it’s still in testing as we’ve spotted a few bugs in the update. We want to iron out the issues before we push the update live. We appreciate your patience and will post an update when it’s available, for now we cannot commit to a timescale.
Any further news on the Original Sensation’s Android 4.0 update? I know I asked a week ago, but a week is a long time in the tech world. Especially when I am having major stability issues with my Sensation currently. Trying to hold off taking it back in-case it’s just a software problem and not hardware related.
Thanks!!
@Davis – testing has finished and it will be released soon, afraid I can’t give you any dates just yet.
when there will be software update 2.3.4 for HTC Sensation on Three?? how long can i wait?
t mobile, vodafone has already realesad it..
@ AndroidFan – If you get your friend with the HTC Sensation and HTC ChaCha to search for “Three” in the Android Market there’s an app. If they install the app they’ll be able to check their minutes etc, or go to mobile.three.co.uk to check your usage
My mates has a htc sensation and also a Htc Cha Cha, from three.co.uk and for some unknown reason they cant find the 3 icon to check there minutes like they used to on old phone, is there a problem with it on these phones or can they find that apps to add it. I have it on my Desire HD, can port that over to them or is there something more you have to do???
@Andrew – I’m sorry if you were given the wrong info to start with. I’ve just checked on Three.co.uk and can see it’s £37 on The One Plan and £30 on Text 500.
I tried to purchase an HTC Sensation from the Farnborough store and was told £35 per month for the phone (Free) and the one contract (5000 minutes + texts and unlimited internet).
This was hand written on the front on a catalogue.
When i went back a week later the response was oh i made an error it should be £37 per month. I get the impression they don’t care how this would look to the potential customer.
I even spoke to some other 3 stores, and was basically told its £37 and there is nothing we can do about it. NONE OF THEM EVEN TRIED!!!!!
IS THIS ANY WAY TO TREAT A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER, IF THIS IS THE SERVICE BEFORE I SIGN UP WHAT WOULD IT BE LIKE IF I DID SIGN UP
@RAS – I’m afraid there is no news about this phone. Sorry.
Hi any news on HTC EVO 3D?
After getting my Desire on three unbranded I won’t go back to branded now.
You can buy them through a re-seller and get a 12 month contract as well
@Scott
If you buy your phone through a reseller (and get a 3 package) it will come unbranded/unlocked.
@ Scott – All of our phone’s are branded to our network.
Any chance you can get them unbranded like the original Desire?
@Kaine Beetham – I’m sorry but I find it extremely difficult to believe that a 3store employee would blatantly lie like that. Granted with sales pressures, commission & targets there are most likely some that may be a bit pushy but I have had several visits to three stores and found them to be quite truthful even if it meant loosing a sale. I could understand them telling you that you may be able to get an early upgrade deal if you were nearing the end of your contract, but not that you can cancel early on or even mid-term, that sort of behaviour would probably get them the sack and it’s a safe bet they value their job more than 1 sale!
I fail to see how you can prove your case so even in the event it did occur as you said I’m afraid your probably stuck with both contracts. Caveat emptor my friend (buyer beware, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is)
@Johanna-thanks for reply.so nice of you.
@Ras – I’m afraid we haven’t made any announcements, but always keep an eye out here and @ThreeUK on twitter!
Hellow Sedge…just wanted to know is HTC EVO 3D coming to three as HTC launching it UK in july.thank you.
@Kalu – It will be branded and will have quick links to bits like Planet 3.
@Kaine beetham – You can’t cancel your contract and just take the phone… Let us know how you get on with Ofcom.
Yes they said thag to me!! If you take this phone we can waiver this current CONtract yes CON is the key word here how do I cancel rhis without speaking to ofcom
Can you confirm if the Sensation come as unbranded handsets, or are they pre loaded with all of the 3 branding along with it’s bloatware?
@Kaine Beetham – how could you possibly think three (or any network) would allow you to cancel a contract within it’s minimum term just so you could take out the same contract and get a new handset?? Thus you expected three to simply give you a new device for free!
If you do decide to try to take three to court please let me know the time and place because I enjoy a good laugh!
@Kaine beetham – We could never just give away expensive phones, so sorry if you had the wrong information. If you let me know which store we can have a chat to them and check this doesn’t happen.
@Paul – Ah so pleased you like your Sensation
Are the apps in the main menu or in the application list under settings? We have different versions of software for all ‘Three’ countries and it’s customised when the user put’s a 3 simcard in. This is normal. The pre-loaded apps for Italy should be just links. Let us know.
@abul – HTC did do a u turn but then admitted they would have to leave some things out to make it fit.
Will never take out a phone with three again was told in store if i take a new contract on galaxy s2 i can cancel my current one with no hold to term but guess what when i ring.in they say 500 quid ye rite lets speak to ofcom no1 in three listens to me lets see u fly to uk to b in court shall we loser companny
Got my Sensation yesterday and it’s amazing!!
There seems to be some random preloaded apps maybe from ’3 Italy’ though?? Like 3MobilTV, 3internet and 3Film.
@ Cypes – The HTC ChaCha is an Android and has a Qwerty keyboard? Was there a specific phone that you had in mind?
Three looking to range any Android/ WIndows Phone 7 devices with qwerty keyboards?
@ Callum – You can get the Nokia E7 on The One Plan for £40 a month, Text 500 for £35 a month or Text 900 for £38. You can find all our tariffs for the E7 here.
How much per month would the Nokia E7 be on Three?
@ Abul – Yeah, that’s correct
We’ll let you know when it’s available.
@ hpoom – We don’t have any plans to reduce the monthly cost of the Sensation. If you want to pay for the phone upfront you can get it for £449.99 on Pay As You Go or you can get it on the text plan for £30.
Any change of getting this phone on the one plan but for less then £37 a month. Maybe reduce the monthly cost but charge for the phone up front.
Looks like third parties are offering this phone for money up front on the three. So why not three direct?
FYI – HTC have since done a U-Turn and stated they WILL be bringing it to the Desire.
HTC recently texted that the Original Desire doesn’t have enough memory for Gingerbread in full.
@ Al – No news yet I’m afraid, as soon as we know more we’ll let you know
any news on that Desire Gingerbread update?
