We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll soon be ranging the fantastic Google Nexus 4 by LG. I know there’s been tonnes of excitement surrounding this phone and it’s easy to see why.
With the very latest Android Jellybean 4.2 OS, the Nexus 4 offers the fastest, richest and most seamless mobile internet experience. Plus it’s enabled for our Ultrafast network, making this a seriously impressive smartphone.
But that’s not all; I’m loving the Photo Sphere Camera which shoots amazing 360˚ panoramic photos in gorgeous HD, and the exciting new Google Now technology, which comes pre-installed. Google Now can show you traffic updates on your route to work, will provide updates on your flight status and can even bring you live scores from your favourite sports teams, all automatically. If you’re anything like me, this kind of real-time technology will become invaluable!
The Nexus 4 also comes with a hefty 16GB of internal memory not to mention a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, which just makes the whole experience even faster and smoother.
This slim and perfectly formed smartphone fits beautifully in the palm of your hand and is surely the perfect partner for Three. To find out more, check out the little sneak peek video we’ve made.

BLADESMAN1889 03/02/2013
Ordered my N4 on Wed 3:03pm — Del Frid 12:38pm
I think they must be installing the network upgrade as according to the map we don’t have Ultrafast but my nexus started picking up H+ and the speed is flying even tho its flashing in and out of H+.
So far I’ve hit 12mbps UP and 4mbps DOWN.

I just upgraded from iPhone 4 to the Nexus 4, absolutely the best move. The Nexus is amazing.

@Richard – Not as far as we’re aware. We’ve not had this feedback before so it might be a browser issue?
Richard 13/12/2012
Hi, I can only see the first line and the top half of the second line on your blog commentaries. Is there a problem with my computer, or does everyone only see this truncated communication? Best regards, Richard

Chris – all updates are being handles by Google directly.
Chris 12/12/2012
Will the Nexus 4′s Updates come Directly from Google or will they have to go through 3 like the main carrier locked phones
Ellie 11/12/2012
@Craig – We still have no launch date for this device yet I’m afraid, price plan details will be available soon.
Craig 11/12/2012
Hi could someone give me price plan details for this phone? I am due an upgrade on the 16th of this month but when I phoned up about it the guy said he cant find any details about the phone, he was even saying that Three wouldn’t be selling it until I told him where to look on the website.
Is it still going to be released on the 13th?
Slavik 07/12/2012
@Sockatume
Then why to sell this phone at all, if this can damage the company?
I doubt that with such price 3 sales will be significant, everyone will go for much cheaper Google Play store.
Ellie 06/12/2012
@DerekP – Well we hope you enjoy it!
DerekP 06/12/2012
Just got mine via Google store. Due next week. Sorry 3, but you had your chance….
Sockatume 05/12/2012
By offering the Nexus 4 at is actual asking price, Three would incur the wrath of all of the other phone manufacturers whose devices would suddenly seem really, really unappealing and not sell very well. I dare say that none of the mobile phone networks is in a strong enough bargaining position to put their foot down and say “yes, we are going to sell this, and you’re just going to have to learn to compete”.
(It doesn’t hurt that all of the other networks are doing exactly the same thing, so customers have nowhere else to go. If I didn’t know any better I’d say it was good old-fashioned price fixing.)
The funny thing is, actual retail stores don’t have this problem. When the Nexus 7 launched you could get it for its real price everywhere, even alongside crappy Samsung tablets at £250. I guess the purchasing departments in retail businesses are just better negotiators.

Had the Nexus 4 for a week now using a Three sim and is a cracking phone.. have to agree with the comments about price compared to Google.

@Paul – Hi there, thanks for the feedback regarding our pricing for the Nexus 4. I’ll pass your comments on.
Moderator: Nicki 30/11/2012
@BLADESMAN1889 – Hi there, sorry you’re unhappy with the pricing that we’re offering. I’ll certainly share your feedback.

@Slavik – Hi there, sorry you’re unhappy with our pricing. I’ll share this with the team.
Paul 30/11/2012
“THREE for the price of two” – That’s exactly how theyll be selling it i.e. buy one unit from THREE for the same you could buy two from the Play Store (when it comes back in stock).
BLADESMAN1889 30/11/2012
My contract is up for renewal in Jan and I’m getting a Nexus 4 ! ! !
But not from you when I can get it from Playstore at £279 as google intended – to stop consumers being ripped off by greedy Carriers – sorry but thats what it boils down to if your charging £399.
The guy in the article made me laugh – “it comes with a HEFTY 16 gigs storage” you guys :–> Wow !
Slavik 29/11/2012
It is hard to justify £279 v. £399 + £15 + Three bloatware deal.
Is there any value added to Nexus 4 sold through 3?
Is it because of distribution costs? -In this case 3 online price should be the same as Google Play.
Is it normal margins for mobile phone sold through 3?
Ellie 29/11/2012
@Derekp – No THREE for the price of two offer that we’re aware of
derekp 28/11/2012
I *know* all business is there to make money (except directly Google it appears), but will anyone pay 399 for a phone they can buy for 279 elsewhere? Or are you planning a ” THREE for the price of two* ” offer (*I trademark that statement but you can use it if you send me a free Nexus 4)

@john – Just sifting through your questions… sorry, it takes a little while for us to publish them all after the weekend. Google + Hangouts isn’t chargeable as it uses data – you have all you can eat data on the One Plan.
Moderator: Johanna 26/11/2012
@Paul – I’m afraid that’s info we can’t give out just yet. We’ll tweet from @ThreeUK as soon as we can
john 26/11/2012
Ros. Thanks for the non information on the transmitter. You can take off the repeated request on the older post now. On the question I asked you whether Google plus hangouts were chargeable on the 1 plan. You didn’t know what a Google hangout was but I’m sure if you ask someone in the office someone Will know. Then we can make sure. It’s easier than to explain on here. Be proactive! So far all you told me if it’s data based it should be o.k. I need to be more definite than that . Will you please help?
Ros 26/11/2012
@john – I’m afraid we don’t have access to that level of detail. The network team on 333 might be able to help..
Paul 26/11/2012
Can you give any idea on timescale? Weeks or months?
Slavik 23/11/2012
What is the price? -£399.
This is £120 more expensive than Google Play, not to mention £15 for unlock.
Well done, 3!
john 23/11/2012
There is an upgrade coming end November according to you at [removed]. Is it for LTE?
If not what is the upgrade for please?
