Smartphones update.
There’s been a big response to my previous post about Smartphones in 2010.
Some of you have mentioned that you feel our range doesn’t offer the best handsets available. We recognise that we have not always kept pace with the developments in smartphones. I am committed to changing that during 2010!
Smartphone is King in 2010
2009 was a big year for 3′s devices team. As a network offering great value mobile tariffs we’re keen to offer our customers a compelling range of handsets across all price points. One of our best selling handsets of 2009 was the Nokia E71 demonstrating that many customers are looking for a QWERTY keypad to ensure easy texting, emailing and keeping their social networking status up-to-date. Touchscreens also grew in popularity and it was really exciting to launch our first Google Android handset: the HTC Hero, particularly when partnered with an outstanding service like Spotify; the music sensation of 2009.
Data devices continue to be a big growth area for 3. During 2009 we capitalised on our market leading position in mobile broadband by launching our first MiFi device.
